Assistant Professor of Nursing

The School of Nursing at Roberts Wesleyan University invites candidates to apply for a full-time (10-month), tenure-track Nursing faculty position beginning Fall 2024.  Our nursing programs are housed in the School of Nursing on our park-like campus in Rochester New York, providing advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area to members of the Roberts community.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in nursing, doctoral degree preferred; a New York State Registered Nurse License; demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment and with a diverse student population; and knowledge of accreditation, regulatory, and professional standards and policies. Previous record of academic experience preferred.  Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the University’s Christian mission and identity. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate multicultural competence, including cultural humility, and value the principles of diversity, equity, and belonging that includes excellent skills in: teamwork, organization,  information technology, quality improvement, resiliency, and communication.

Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities could include undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in psychosocial-mental health concepts, clinical reasoning, and judgment skills for entry and advanced levels of nursing, as well as other areas to be determined based on areas of student need and faculty expertise. Additional responsibilities include supervision and evaluation of students, remediation as needed, assist in recruitment and retention of students, compliance with University, School, and Program policies and procedures. While the primary focus for faculty is teaching, effective faculty performance will also include service, profession-related activity, and scholarship.

Salary Range: $62,500 - $68,000 based on experience and rank.
